Luca Koch is a local, 12-year-old artist who looks forward to sharing his homemade comics with you. His accolades include the framing and display of his skeleton still life above the school fireplace during 2nd grade, his poem My Room, about his creative space, was published in the COMPAS Creative Classroom Program 2024-25 anthology, successful sidewalk sales of his comics during the Minnesota State Fair, and much positive approval from friends, classmates, and grandma. Luca’s comic company, Indiespine, includes three series: the comedic Macat, the gothic and grimy Monster Detectives who investigate crimes in the broken construct of Hell, and the satirical superheroes Zippy and Carrot Man.
The Minnesota Comic Book Association (MNCBA) works to promote, through events open to the general public: the education, cultural influence, and significance of comics as an art form, with emphasis on local contributions to the past and current comic book industry.
