Hunter Heid is a 20-year-old junior studying at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design for his BFA in Comic Arts. He uses digital tools/programs to create his artwork.
Hunter’s art-style was born from his love for manga, especially popular shonen manga like My Hero Academia, One Piece, and Gachiakuta. Being able to mold the perspective of characters to make them feel more alive and dynamic helped grow Hunter’s desire to draw at a higher level. With that dynamic perspective, Hunter experiments with text style panels to bring more interesting panel compositions to his stories.
Hunter has created dozens of multiple-page comics, completed an internship under a professional comic artist, and self-published a 80-page one-shot comic book over his most recent summer break. This 80-page book, Gaia’s Tears: A Soulless One-Shot, is a sneak peek into one grand story that Hunter wants to show the world as he continues to bring to life one-shots of new characters in this world.
