Nathan Olivarez
Nathan Olivarez is a student from small town Rockport, TX, who made the daring move to continue his education after receiving a scholarship for Minneapolis College of Art and Design. He only brought his art supplies, his cat Tucker, and a dream to create comics while settling into a new city with no name, no job, but a lot of ambition. He is a traditional artist who takes pride in his work, and he's eager to become a part of the Twin Cities comic community.
Nathan's current main project, Ozmandius, is a comic project that is about how we feel about climate change, and the grief we feel when facing the future of it. This project was born from his experience of living a life on the Gulf Coast after experiencing many oil spills, and watching oil rigs being built in his backyard.
Nathan is a full time student, a part time bear-builder at Build-a-Bear workshop, and also is working to be a self-published comic artist. He is excited to share his art and the community passion with joy!
