Jesse Switters is a comic creator and illustrator based in Duluth, Minnesota. He is the artist behind the indie comic series Smarg written by Paul Hallgren. For more than a decade, he has helped musicians, writers, and organizations tell stories through illustration.
Creating comics is a meaningful way for him to connect with his Lakota tradition of drawing winter counts (waníyetu wówapi), a visual recordkeeping practice that stretches back hundreds of years.
