Brandon John is a cartoonist, painter, and educator out of Minneapolis, Minnesota. His work is funneled through his self-published NUT Comics. NUT acts as a paracosm in which the artist can freely explore themes of autonomy and agency in a variety of medium. In NUT, these characters that were once ordinary people must learn to make their own happiness and find purpose so that they may try to live again. These characters' many journeys through existentialism is at the heart of the artists practice and his belief in the power of visual art.
Brandon chooses to use analog and accessible materials to demonstrate the lack of barriers to comic storytelling.
