Rocky Casillas Aguirre is a Latino and LGBTQ comics creator based in southern Minnesota. In 2020, he founded Rokaturas — an art studio dedicated to the publication of mental health and mindfulness-themed children's books and comics.
In 2023, Rocky published his first comic, Twitch and the Mystic Weenie #1, and first children's book, Where Did Anxiety Go?, which was printed in four languages (Spanish, English, Somali, and Swahili) to ensure accessibility by immigrant and refugee youth. Both books were funded by the Minnesota State Arts Board and a fellowship from the Department of Public Transformation (DoPT).
Rocky's books have received local news coverage from Northfield News and MN Women's Press (Art & Health). Last year, he published Twitch and the Mystic Weenie #2. Projects currently under development include Stresszilla and Twitch and the Mystic Weenie #3.
